Don't miss our first event on October 4th 👇
The Channel Islands Information Security Forum (CIISF) – supported by CERT.JE – is kicking off an exciting cyber security awareness month in October with an engaging headline conference featuring local experts and renowned off-island keynote speakers.
After two years away, the CIISF’s annual conference is back! Attracting a great mix of senior decision makers, directors, cyber security and IT professionals, NEDS, risk and compliance experts and other business, third and public sector leaders this conference is broad in appeal and rich in the depth of knowledge you can take away and apply to your organisation.
Cyber security is a team game, in which everyone has a part to play. From the headline speakers to the least technical in the audience – this event will teach all something new.
On the day, giving opening remarks, we're proud to welcome Deputy Kirsten Morel, the Deputy Chief Minister for the Government of Jersey.
Our first key note speaker is Marcus Willett CB OBE, previously GCHQ’s first Director Cyber and the deputy head of the organisation with a 33 year career, including leading the National Offensive Cyber Programme.
Our second key note speaker is Ken Munro, Executive Member of the Internet of Things Security Forum. Ken spoke out on IoT security design flaws at the forum’s inaugural event. He’s also not averse to getting deeply techie either, regularly participating in hacking challenges and demos. Ken is a member of the CVE Board and known as a maverick in the industry. This isn't a talk to be missed!
Further speakers include Deputy Alex Curtis, formerly of Microsoft, and Dave Cartwright of the Channel Islands Information Security Forum. We also have two panels discussions, firstly in the morning Cybersecurity and the Regtech Opportunity, and in the afternoon representatives of other crown dependencies talking about how can we work together across jurisdictions to deliver cyber resilient islands.
On the 11th, 12th and 13th October...
CERT.JE will be hosting a series of mock cyber incident response exercises in partnership with Jersey Business, The Chartered Institute of Public Relations, The Charity CEO Forum, The Chamber of Commerce and the IoD Jersey Branch.
These events will enable participants to experience being part of an incident response team, developing a response plan for the fictitious incident as events unfold.

And IASME for the 20th..
Cyber risks have never been higher. Whether you are a business, public body or charity a major cyber security incident can cost you trust and confidence, in many cases resulting in closure.
Delivering good security is hard, but effective cyber assurance can help you avoid sleepless nights, and give your board and customers confidence in your cyber security controls.
At our Cyber Essentials for Jersey Organisations breakfast briefing in partnership with The IASME Consortium find out about the options available to you and how CyberEssentials+ can give you and your customers confidence, help you respond to customer due diligence and protect you when the worst happens.
The morning will include a talk on Cyber Security Assurance – What it is, why it matters, and options available to Jersey businesses, by CERT.JE Director, Matt Palmer.
This will be followed by Cyber Essentials: The scheme, the controls, and the benefits, by IASME Chief Operating Officer Chris Pinder and Cyber Essentials Manager Neil Furminger.
And finally a panel discussion on Implementing CyberEssentials Plus for business benefit, with Chair: Matt Palmer, CERT.JE, Panel: Chris Pinder and Neil Furminger, IASME, Paul Vane, JOIC, James Kelsh, Resolution IT, and Grant Hamilton, ASL.
IASME, CERT.JE and local CyberEssentials certification bodies will be available for 1:1 advice and support following the event.

From around the web
Help us!
Are you a cyber security professional?
Please help and send us a short clip of yourself so that we can show as many varied careers in our industry as possible.
To raise awareness of the exciting careers possible in cyber security we need video content that can be used repeatedly in schools. The first batch of these short videos will be played as a series in either computing and career lessons or assemblies.
The minimum to include is:
What do you do (day to day tasks)
Why you like it
Any qualifications (if needed)
Skills that make a difference
What subjects you/your team enjoyed (the more diverse the better)
Next steps to get started on their journey
Try to make the video short and not just sat at your desk. Multiple short videos can be used if you have lots to say.
For further tips Digital Jersey's Rory Steel has you covered in this short video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZ7SfwqxCDw
To upload a video, please place it in this folder: Cyber Security Video Uploads
